Arbor Christian Fellowship’s Commitment to Global Missions Through Partnership with the International Mission Board (IMB)

Empowering Global Discipleship: Arbor Christian Fellowship’s Active Role in Supporting IMB Missionaries

Arbor Christian Fellowship has long been committed to supporting global missions, and one of the key ways we express this commitment is through our partnership with the International Mission Board (IMB). As a part of the Southern Baptist Convention, Arbor Christian Fellowship embraces the IMB’s mission to share the gospel and make disciples in countries all around the world, particularly in regions where there is little access to the Christian faith.

The relationship between Arbor Christian Fellowship and the IMB is multifaceted, rooted in prayer, financial support, and direct involvement in missions. The church prioritizes missions as a core part of its ministry and encourages both local and global outreach. One of the primary ways that our church supports the IMB is through its annual contributions to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering, a fund specifically dedicated to supporting IMB missionaries and their work on the field. This offering helps provide essential resources such as medical care, transportation, housing, and language training for missionaries, allowing them to better serve in their respective locations.

In addition to financial support, Arbor Christian Fellowship takes a hands-on approach to missions. Members of the congregation have participated in short-term mission trips in partnership with the IMB, helping to serve alongside international missionaries in areas such as Africa, India, and Mexico. These trips are designed to build relationships, provide aid to underserved communities, and bring the love of Christ to those who may not have heard the gospel.

Our church also emphasizes prayer for missionaries, regularly lifting up IMB missionaries in prayer meetings and in men and women’s ministry gatherings. The congregation stays informed about the challenges missionaries face, whether that be in hostile environments, limited resources, or the complexities of cross-cultural communication. Through prayer, financial backing, and short-term service, Arbor Christian Fellowship is deeply invested in the global mission efforts of the IMB.

Ultimately, Arbor Christian Fellowship’s partnership with the IMB is a reflection of our broader mission to see the gospel spread to all corners of the earth, trusting that God is at work globally and locally. This partnership strengthens the vision of making disciples, advancing God’s Kingdom, and supporting those called to serve in mission fields that are far from home.
